CAMP KALAHARI

Camp Kalahari is located on the Makgadikgadi Pans on Hyena Island, central Botswana run by the same family who own the award winning Jack's Camp and San Camp. Camp Kalahari is a return to the traditional safari style of the old explorers, and is the best way to experience the Makgadikgadi in a fresh and affordable way. Camp Kalahari accepts children of all ages and makes for a fantastic family safari destination.
Camp Kalahari has ten Meru tents: Seven twin tents, two double tents and one family unit comprising two twin tents with an inter-leading bathroom. The camp is furnished with unusual and attractive furniture from East and Southern Africa. Each tent has a large en-suite bathroom with running water and a flush loo. The camp has a large airy central thatched dining and sitting room, and a small swimming pool.
Activities at Camp Kalahari include game drives, walking with their resident family of meerkats (the guided bush walks with San Bushmen, and sleeping out in the pans under the stars. Visit Chapman’s Baobab - a historical baobab tree used by Livingstone and one of the largest and oldest trees in Africa.
During the dry season guests at Camp Kalahari can experience the vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans on quad bikes. Get dressed up in dark glasses and Lawrence of Arabia headgear and race out on to the pan.
