XIGERA CAMP


Xigera Camp is a waterland paradise, situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta in the Moremi Game Reserve. Permanent water year-round allows a variety of activities such as guided walks, mokoro trips,  and powerboat outings with game drives in the drier months – and as Xigera is the only camp in the area there is total privacy.

Nestled in a magnificent riverine forest, Xigera Camp consists of eight luxuriously furnished tented rooms each with en-suite facilities and an outdoor shower. All are built on wooden decks, offering a superb view of the seasonal floodplain and waterhole. Meals and evening drinks are enjoyed in the lounge, pub and dining area overlooking a permanently flowing channel or under the stars in a traditional African boma.

Guests are often treated to close-up views of lion or leopard using the footbridge connecting Xigera’s island to the next! Xigera is a delight for birdwatchers, with Pel’s Fishing Owl, African Skimmer, Slaty Egret, Wattled Crane and a host of eagles, vultures, raptors and kingfishers to be seen. An abundance of good game includes red lechwe, antelope, lion, hyena, and leopard and the highest density of the rare sitatunga antelope found anywhere in the Delta.
