ABU CAMP
Abu Camp, set deep in an ancient riverine forest, consists of six custom-built, stylishly furnished tents with en-suite bathrooms. Each tent has its own tree-shaded deck overlooking the lagoon, which thrives with abundant bird and animal life. The main deck, winding around African ebony and sycamore fig trees, has a dappled, cool atmosphere. The lounge and dining tent has a breathtaking view over the lagoon and also features a well-stocked library and a study. Sundowners around a traditional campfire are followed by fivestar meals.
Abu allows guests the extraordinary privilege of being part of an African elephant herd, by interacting with the resident herd, meeting each individual and beginning to understand what makes the largest land mammal tick. These elephant encounters provide magical moments, including riding and walking with the herd through the bush; being with them allows a closer approach to other animals than ever before. Abu also offers game drives, night drives, walks and mokoros to view the abundance of game in the area.
