Congo Gorilla Trekking

Gorilla Congo

Gorilla Trekking Safari in the Republic of Congo - New for 2012

With effect from the 31st May 2012 and departing every Thursday thereafter we are offering a fascinating Gorilla Trekking Safari in the Republic of Congo (Formerly The French Congo). The construction of two brand new, sensitively designed safari Lodges in the Odzala- Kokoua National Park make this possible for the first time.

The Western Lowland Gorilla is a cousin of the better known Eastern Mountain Gorilla which is found in Uganda and Rwanda. It lives within the jungles of Central and West Africa, like all Gorillas it is highly endangered and the opportunities for tourists to observe these animals anywhere in the wild are very limited. At present, expensive gorilla permits are not required to see these animals and more than one group may be trekked in a day, so you have more time with the Gorillas than is possible with their Eastern Cousins. Another great advantage of this tour is that other fascinating forest animals can also be observed including Forest Elephant, Forest buffalo, bongo, red river hogs, plus various species of primate and forest dwelling antelope.
This is a trip that no wildlife enthusiast can afford to miss.

We are running this Safari in conjunction with our African associates Wilderness Safaris. A fully detailed and priced itinerary can be obtained here.
