Everything about the holiday was just perfect. Elsa's Kopje was brilliant - we were the only guests until the last evening so they took really good care of us.

MANYARA RANCH CONSERVANCY
Manyara Ranch Conservancy is located on its own 35000 acre conservancy and was created by the African Wildlife Foundation in 2000 to preserve a wildlife corridor on the traditional migration routes between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park and the other National parks on Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit.
As a result of this far sighted vision the area is now literally teeming with wildlife including many species rarely seen elsewhere.
Manyara Ranch Conservancy has several large dams on the ranch that attract and retain the wildlife. There is a significant resident population of wildlife including groups of large bull elephants, breeding herds of giraffe, many lesser kudu, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, oryx and eland. There are also predators, including lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal and bat-eared foxes. For many years highly endangered wild dogs have denned on the ranch.
Manyara Ranch has a variety of habitats, which include open savannah, acacia woodland, bush and riverine forest.
Accommodation at Manyara Ranch Conservancy comprises just six comfortable tented rooms each with en- suite bathrooms and hot and cold running water and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Guests have exclusive use of the ranch with no third party visitors allowed, providing a top class and easily accessible game viewing experience in a part of the Northern circuit that normally sees thousands of visitors.
Perhaps the biggest attraction of Manyara Ranch is that it is not a National Park and is not subject to Park rules, therefore guests can go off road, enjoy guided walks and night drives anywhere in the conservancy.
There are also a number of hides strategically located around the ranch where you can spend time if you don’t fancy a game drive or walking. The Camp also has stables and horses so that keen riders can ride in the bush with just the wildlife for company. All these activities are rare elsewhere in Tanzania.
In our opinion Manyara Ranch Conservancy is a very attractive place to stay at the beginning or end of the Northern Safari circuit. The Conservancy is a great alternative to Tarangire National Park and the very busy Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara Ranch offers much more in addition to the traditional 4x4 game drives to which most visitors to Northern Tanzania are limited.
