GRUMETI SERENGETI TENTED CAMP
Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp was formerly known as Grumeti River Camp and is an stylish Safari Camp set along the banks of the Grumeti River in the Western part of the Serengeti National Reserve.
Grumeti Serengeti is a ten roomed safari camp is renowned for its stylish, vibrantly African designed, tented suites and has very high levels of comfort and service. .
Each tented suite features a large bed made of Tanzanian cypress and comfortable deck furniture both in and outdoors. En suite bathrooms offer separate w.c.s and alfresco showers open to the sun and stars. Yoruba beaded antique artefacts adorn the sitting areas and domed bar. Spacious decks are perfect for sundowners overlooking the water. Delicious Pan-African cuisine – prepared on traditional ‘jikos’ (fires) or in stone ovens – is served in the boma or open-fronted dining area. Private dinners may be arranged for any special occasion.
The great migration passes through Grumeti between May and July as hundreds upon thousands of wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores bravely cross the Grumeti River, risking the jaws of some of Africa’s largest crocodiles, making Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp the ideal Camp for a safari at this time of year. At other times there is reasonable resident game but this camp is best combined with a camp in another area the Central Serengeti to maximise game sightings.
It is possible to visit Grumeti Serengeti Tented camp on a fly in safari which is an unforgettable way of experiencing Tanzania’s northern safari circuit possibly combining Grumeti Serengeti Lodge with its sister Camps of Kleins in the Northern Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater Lodge and Lake Manyara Tree Lodge in a really exciting safari circuit
