Tanzania Safaris

Tanzania Safaris Map  Tanzania is a large and fascinating country, the home of African safari holidays: Much of Tanzania comprises National Parks, Game Reserves and protected areas and is a culturally diverse land, most of which remains barely touched by tourism.

Tanzania is home to some of the world’s largest and most unspoilt game parks and reserves and can be conveniently divided into a Northern and Southern Safari circuit.

The Northern Tanzania circuit contains Tanzania's most famous National Parks including Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks and the Serengeti National Reserve. The area also includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Ngorongoro Crater which is a world heritage site. All convenietly close enough to each other to combine in a wonderful 4x4 overland safari circuit.

Tanzania migration mapThe annual wildebeest migration is a wonder of the word not to be missed.

The Southern Tanzania circuit is much less well known and much wilder and includes some of Africa's largest Wildlife Reserves including Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park and in the extreme West of the country the totally wild, but game rich Katavi National Park. For clients with an interest in the primates the Mahale Mountains National Park on the shores of Lake Tanganyika has wonderful Chimpanzee trekking.

Either circuit can be combined with a stay on the tropical beaches of Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia Islands or Tanzania's mainland coast. Good flight connections within Tanzania also make it possible to combine parks on the Northern Circuit with those in the South.
