SELOUS IMPALA CAMP

This relatively new camp in the Selous is already a firm favourite with Safari Club clients. Impala Camp which is situated on a wooded stretch of the Rufiji River is well designed with a breezy lounge and dinning area which sits on spacious wooden decking with spectacular views across the river. It is a pleasure to relax on the deck watching the game coming down to the River to drink.

Lodge

Selous Impala Camp has only eight private Meru-style tents which are raised high up on wooden platforms. The Tents face out onto the river and are furnished in an African style with large beds and an en-suite bathroom. The rooms are very comfortable although not especially large and there is one double family tent which is ideal for a family of four.

Guest are escorted by Maasai guards to and from the tent at night as the camp is not fenced and wildlife does occasionally pass through.

Impala Camp has a good range of Safari activities including game drives in open sided 4x4 vehicles, boat safaris along the Rufiji River and on the nearby lakes and also walking safaris.

You can also head out onto the river for some top quality tiger fishing.

The more adventurous might try a night or two fly-camping in bush accompanied by a camp guide who has a good knowledge of the game found in the area.

Impala also has a lovely swimming pool overlooking the river, ideal for a refeshing swim after a morning out on safari.

Pooltent

This camp combines very well in a Southern Tanzania Safari circuit with Ruaha River Lodge in the Ruaha National Park and a few days at Pongwe Beach hotel in Zanzibar
