Kafue National Park

This park located in the south of Zambia is little known and little visited but is one of the largest parks in Africa. The park is bisected by the Kafue River and is classic wildlife country.

We have recently opened four new camps in the game rich northern sector of the park known as the Busanga plains, an area of Serengeti type grasslands, this area is untouched by human development and offers a true wilderness experience.

Our safaris here are run by Wilderness Safaris who have a reputation as the leading operator of exclusive luxury safaris in Southern Africa.

The wildlife here is varied with a good chance of seeing Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Elephant, buffalo and twenty different species of antelope including Sable, Roan and Red Lechwe which are rare elsewhere. Wild dogs are also regularly sighted in this wetland paradise.

Kafue National park will combine very well as part of a fascinating and varied safari circuit with South Luangwa National Park, Lower Zambezi National Park and Victoria Falls.

The best time to visit Kafue National Park is from May to October for the rest of the year the park is virtually inaccessible.
