Luangwa River Camp

Now part of the award winning Robin Safaris group the Luangwa River camp is nestled under an ancient ebony grove and overlooking the Wafwa Oxbow Lagoon, lies the intimate and exclusive owner-run Luangwa River Camp lodge, accommodating a maximum of five couples at any one time.

The Camp’s gentle but exquisite décor fuses vibrant earth tones and raw materials. Palm stalks, indigenous timber, thatch and red earthen plaster create a strikingly elegant yet warm atmosphere.

The camp is unique with its décor and great attention to detail has made Luangwa River Camp quite like nothing else currently in South Luangwa or Zambia. The camp is elevated on wooden decks affording great views to the park and river.

There are five brick and thatch Bush Suites all individually named and all feature unique decorative themes. All have private decks with covered Bomas affording great views over the river and park and feature fabulous sunken baths that are large enough for two people.

Luangwa River Camp’s open plan lounge, dining area and revitalising infinity pool afford excellent game viewing opportunities and delicious dining under an endless canopy of African stars. So you can sit back and relax after a busy day of walking and photographic safari

Enjoy a relaxing massage in the privacy of your Bush Suite/Boma courtesy of The Personal Touch. They proudly offer a variety of holistic therapies combining exotic, oriental and western techniques, all of their treatments provide the ultimate feel-good therapy.

Activities include: Game Drives, Walks (with armed escort scout and guide), Bush Breakfasts, Picnics, River Safaris and Boat Trips (January to April subject to water levels), elephant crossing hide – a wonderful photo opportunity).
