Uganda Safaris-Luxury African Safaris in Uganda-Tailor Made Uganda
Uganda is a land of contrasts. Uganda is a small landlocked country that has emerged from its recent turbulent past and now welcomes visitors to what is certainly one of Africa’s most diverse and beautiful safari destinations. Uganda has a host of unusual attractions and a rapidly expanding tourist infrastructure.
In half a day you can drive from mist-shrouded volcanic mountains to hot hazy savannah, dotted with wildlife. Serene undulating hills of tea plantations, lush but ordered, give way to tangled jungle and rainforest with the musical accompaniment of chaotic, cacophonous birdlife. Uganda is alive with these contrasts: The tiniest sunbirds, iridescent in the morning light, the massive lumbering yet silent elephant, disappearing like a vapour behind the trees, the chimpanzees crashing about the forest canopy, the lugubrious gorilla, chewing thoughtfully in the bamboo thicket.
There’s the Nile, twisting its way north like a shimmering ribbon, through arid semi-desert scattered about with rocky kopjes. Snow capped peaks, tropical, sandy, freshwater beaches, and smiling faces everywhere. It’s all here, Uganda is a feast for all the senses.
Uganda is often described as the “Pearl of Africa”, this lush tropical land is the source of the Nile, where the great river spills out of Lake Victoria and starts its long journey to the Mediterranean Sea. Uganda’s National Parks are some of the best in Africa, with safaris celebrated for their magnificent scenery as well as for abundant wildlife.
A full Uganda safari circuit would take you from the shores of Lake Victoria to the Virunga and Ruwenzori mountains, the Western Rift Valley lakes Edward and Albert, the Nile, and Mount Elgon.
Safari-Club features safaris to some of Uganda’s most celebrated National Parks, Wildlife Reserves and Forests including, Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls and Budongo Forest, Kibale Forest, The Ruwenzori Mountains, Semiliki, Kidepo, and Mt Elgon.
The highlight of any Uganda Safari holiday is the opportunity to track and spend time with a family of highly endangered Mountain Gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The chance to see one of our closest relatives in the wild is an experience not to be missed at any cost.
The best time to visit Uganda is June to September or Late December to Early February.
