Camp Kipwe

Camp Kipwe is situated within the Twyfelfontein Conservancy in in Southern Damaraland and is under the same ownership as the more upmarket Mowani Mountain Lodge nearby.

The eight rooms are round in shape and designed to fit in with the surrounding boulders each has a large outside deck from which to enjoy the view. The outside, partially open bathrooms adjoining the bedrooms have boulder, cement and rock walls, and roofs of rough mopane branches. Hot water is supplied by wood-burning boilers.

Camp Kipwe's main facilities include a dining room, where breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner is served at fixed times. In addition, there is also a guest lounge area and a small plunge pool.

Camp Kipwe ofers its guests a number of activities, some of which are only available as part of a full board package these include Game Drives in the conservancy exploring the surrounding area with a guide, in search of Namibia's remaining 600 desert dwelling elephant and other wildlife.

Guided nature walks are possible along the walking trails in the vicinity of the camp.

Visits to the ancient rock engravings at Twyfelfontein which includes a visit to the Burnt Mountain and the Organ Pipes.

Camp Kipwe is in our opinion a good value mid range safari camp well located for a safari circuit of Northern Namibia.
