Mowani Mountain Camp

Situated in the Twyfelfontein area in the heart of southern Damaraland, between the Ugab and the Huab Rivers, Mowani Mountain Camp commands a stunning location – perched high on a rocky outcrop, nestled amongst large granite boulders and overlooks the gravel plains and mountains beyond

Mowani Mountain Camp offers 12 luxury tents, all with en-suite facilities, decorated beautifully in East African style. Each Tent has crisp white linen, en-suite bathrooms, and a wooden deck looking out over the wonderful Damaraland landscape. Mowani Mountain Camp also has a Private Suite  with a personal butler and private dining. The camp has a nice little swimming pool tucked in amongst the rocks which is perfect for cooling off after a hot day on safari.

Daily activities at Mowani include game drives in search of desert-adapated elephants, rhino and antelope; nature walks amid the fascinating the desert-adapted flora and fauna; and visits to prolific ancient rock painting sites made by the San hunter-gatherers thousands of years ago.

In our opinion this excellent safari camp is an excellent place to stay for a few days as part of a self drive tour through Southern Damaraland.
