Wolwedans Dunes Lodge

Wolwedans Dunes Lodge is located in the Namibrand Private Reserve and perched on top of a dune plateau with panoramic vistas in all directions and showcasing the beauty the Namib Desert in spectacular style.

The Namibrand is perhaps the most scenic desert area in Namibia with a mixx of red dunefields, gravel plains and freestanding granite mountains the scenery is stunning. There is also a good deal of game here, notably some recently reintroduced cheetahs.

The lodge reflects the ambience of a tented camp, but provides the comfort and protection of a permanent building. Each of the nine spacious chalets with en-suite bathrooms has a private veranda, which connects you to vast stretches of untouched sand. Sleeping with your canvas blinds open is just like sleeping under the stars.

The main complex consists of two lounges, a number of sundowner decks, a fireplace, a tea deck, a library, the wine cellar and two dining rooms.

The lodge also has a swimming pool, which is suspended above the sand. All communal areas of the lodge open out onto decks with superb views.

Activities at Wolwedans Dune Lodge focus on exploring all the fascinating facets of the Namib – the world's oldest desert. The programme for a two-night stay usually begins with an afternoon nature drive when you arrive which leads into a sundowner drive. This is followed by a full-day excursion including a picnic lunch and nature walks. Alternatively, there is the option of a morning and afternoon drive with a mid day siesta to relax at the lodge for visitors who'd just like to sit back and take in the magnificent surroundings. The lodge also offers massages, and can book scenic flights and hot-air ballooning.
