Autumn in Africa
The Northern hemisphere autumn months are the perfect time for a safari to Southern and Eastern Africa, it is late spring and early summer. It is hot and the animals are thirsy, the grass is short and the trees have lost their leaves. The rainy season has not started in earnest and scarce water makes for exciting game viewing as hungry predators stake out the water holes looking for a tasty meal.
British Airways and other carriers to Nairobi, Dar Es Salaam, Johannesburg and Lusaka have started their ticket sale and airfares are often half of the levels seen in July and August.
The rates at the Luxury Lodges and Camps favoured by Safari Club clients are also much lower and the strong pound also makes this a time to enjoy a thrilling and affordable luxury break in the Serengeti, Maasai Mara, Okavango Delta or any of our other prime safari destinations.
The number of tourists in Kenya and Tanzania is much lower making for more enjoyable and exclusive game viewing whilst sunny weather and excellent fishing and scuba diving conditions prior to the start of the short rains means “Safari and Beach” combinations are perfect.
For Safari Club clients who have flexible travel dates, we can tailor make a safari at our favourite camps in Ruaha, Selous, Serengeti, Maasai Mara, South Luangwa, the Okavango and Kruger.
This is the perfect time to make that journey of a lifetime without breaking the bank but availability of airline tickets and space at our small luxury camps and lodges as well as on our luxury mobile safaris is limited so an early decision is essential.
Our very experienced and well travelled safari consultants have a passionate love of Africa, it’s people and wildlife and are very happy to have an informal chat on the telephone about any of our Safaris.
If you would like us to prepare a detailed itinerary and quotation please advise us when you can travel, for how long you want to go and the safari destinations you would like to visit?
