The award winning Ivory Lodge is very luxurious and exclusive with complete privacy and each suite is operated as a lodge within a lodge where private dinners, spa treatments and complete relaxation are offered. The main area consists of a private lounge with fireplace, wooden viewing decks, wine cellar, health spa, curio shop as well as an indoor and outdoor dining area. The six large and luxurious suites have a private courtyard, lounge with fireplace, viewing deck and private swimming pool. The bedroom en-suite is fully air-conditioned and has an additional outside shower. All suites and areas are linked by raised wooden walkways. They all have magnificent views over the Sabie River, a setting where game viewing can be done from the luxury of your suite.
Game viewing at Lion Sands is of a high standard and compares with the best in the world. Guests may see lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and other general game on game drives, as well as superb bird watching. Wildlife activities include game drives of approximately four hours, accompanied by a qualified ranger and tracker. Guests not only get close to big game but also learn to identify birds and trees and learn about local bush lore. Night drives are also possible at Lion Hill and offer a unique experience. Nocturnal sightings might include bush babies, leopard, hyena, porcupine, genets, or other predators hunting and stalking their prey.
