On the borders of Tanzania are three large lakes; Victoria, the second-largest freshwater lake in the world, Tanganyika, one of the deepest in the world; and Lake Malawi. Other lakes within Tanzania include Natron, Eyasi, Manyara and Rukwa.
The best time to visit the Southern Tanzania Safari circuit is in the drier winter months between June and October whilst the Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit can be vistied in most months although the wet season from late March to May is better avoided.
