Botswana Summer Safari

A flexible classic flying safari visiting the pristine wildlife reserves of Northern Botswana and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.

This safari starts and finishes in Maun with the option of a few nights at Victoria Falls. Your classic journey through this region visits Savuti in the Chobe Game Reserve, Moremi Game Reserve, the Okavango Delta and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Transfers within Botswana are by scenic light aircraft flight.

Botswana’s summer months are an excellent time to visit this country at a much reduced cost. Whilst the Okavango Delta floodwaters will have receded at this time there is permanent water which continues to attract much wildlife. Many animals choose to have their young at this time of year when the vegetation is more lush and birds are in full breeding plumage making Northern Botswana a magnet for birdwatchers.

Although this is the rainy season in this very arid area it does not rain every day, Rain normally falls in short sharp thunderstorms in the afternoon and last about an hour.

All the camps and lodges on our “Botswana summer” are situated within prime game viewing locations and our expert rangers and trackers go to great lengths to maximise sightings.

The Central Kalahari Game Reserve and Makgadikgadi Pans area have some of the best “summer” game viewing in Botswana with large herds of grazers drawn to the area by the fresh grasses and a full range of predators making the most of this time of plenty.
