BUSANGA PLAINS CAMP
Busanga Plains is a wetland area in the far Northern region of Kafue National Park. During most of the year the Plains are flooded and make a perfect but inaccessible wildlife sanctuary. However, during the dry season months from July to October the plains are accessible by four wheel drive and air and offer a superb wildlife experience.
Busanga Plains Camp consists of four comfortable safari tents complete with en suite bathrooms. The small size of the camp ensures that you will have a high quality safari experience. The exact location of the camp is changed from year to year as the camp is newly erected at the start of each season.
Busanga Plains camp is one of only four small camps located in this vast wilderness area in the extreme Northern part of Kafue National Park and it is the most competitively priced of the four.
The wildlife here includes large groups of red lechwe, a semi-aquatic antelope, that are easy to see. Herds of rare Roan antelope are ever present, as are huge herds of buffalo also wildebeest, zebra and eland. Lions are very common and the Busanga Plains are one of the best places to see cheetah in Zambia. Leopards haunt the tree lines and this area of the park has frequent wild dog sightings.
Busanga Plains Camp combines with other camps in the central and Northern Areas of the park including Mayukuyuku Camp, Lufupa Tented Camp and Hippo Lodge in a superb safari circuit.
In our opinion this is an excellent small safari camp at a reasonable price in a superb location and well worth including on any Safari to Northern Kafue.
