Lower Zambezi National Park
This park is located on the Northern bank of the wild and very beautiful Zambezi River, surely one of the most scenic places in the world which along with Mana Pools national park on the Zimbabwean side of the border forms another prime game viewing area. The park comprises a beautiful grassy flood plain dotted with thickets and clumps of acacia and is flanked on the northern side by hills and a steep escarpment covered by thick miombo woodland.
The area is particularly rich in elephant, with huge herds often encountered along the riverbanks, Crocodile and Hippo are plentiful and buffalo also very common. Lion can often been seen and their roars can usually be heard at night along with the with the whooping of hyena.
We have a number of well established luxury camps here all run by people who love the Afican bush and are dedicated to conservation of this unique area.
Lower Zambezi National park will combine very well as part of a fascinating and varied safari circuit with South Luangwa National Park, Kafue National Park and Victoria Falls.
The best time to visit Lower Zambezi National Park is during the dry winter months from May to October.
