KAPAMBA BUSH CAMP

Kapamba Bush Camp is one of the most remote in Zambia's South Luangwa National Park set on the banks of the Kapamba River. The Kapamba River is a tributary of the Luangwa and the site of the Kapamba Bush Camp is around four miles from the Luangwa River  itself so Luangwa can also be included in your safari activities. Kapamba Bush Camp has just four imaginatively designed thatched chalets, each with comfortable beds, safari furniture and en suite w.c and shower, as well as a bath/plunge pool with a lovely private view of the Kapamba River. It therefore combines a good level of comfort with an essential simplicity.

In the heart of Kapamba Bush Camp is the dining room and deck where you can relax expecting to see animals coming down at any time to drink and interact at the Kapamba River.

One of the main activities at Kapamba Bush Camp is to enjoy early morning walks where you might set off with your armed scout and experienced guide for three or four hours wandering along the Kapamba, perhaps as far as the Luangwa itself, taking the opportunity to track animals on foot, learning a great deal about the bush from your guide and sometimes approaching wildlife from downwind. These walks are a great opportunity to explore this remote corner of the South Luangwa and you are almost certain not to encounter any other tourists while you are out. Vehicle drives are also possible here and usually in the afternoon, turning into a night drive as your guide switches on the spotlight to seek out nocturnal creatures such as leopard  and hyena on the prowl.

In our opinion this is a superb and very comfortable luxury bush camp in a beautiful and game rich area of the park which combines perfectly with Chindeni or Chamilandu bush camps and a few days at Mfuwe Lodge.
