Tafika Camp

Tafika Camp in the South Luangwa National Park is the base camp of Remote Africa Safaris. It has been the home of John and Carol Coppinger since 1995 and has a relaxed, friendly, atmosphere.

The wonderful vista of the Luangwa River sets Tafika apart. A maximum of twelve guests enjoy the comfort and beauty of six spacious chalets nestled in the shade of giant lead wood trees. Facilities are en-suite with sparkling rainbows in the delightful outdoor showers!

Situated in the Northern part of South Luangwa National Park, Tafika offers microlight flights and mountain biking as optional extras to the excellent drives and walks of a routine day. Mkasanga Village nearby welcomes guests interested in their culture and non-materialistic way of life in the warm heart of Africa.

Tafika Camp remains open for the excitement of the first rains in early November. The immense power of the early thunder storms and the sudden return to life of everything around is spectacular. Baby impalas begin to drop around the 5th of November, almost doubling the impala population overnight and other animals also choose this time to have their young.

Tafika Camp is seasonally operated from: 1st May to 30 November (Dry season)
