This is a safari and beach holiday combining Savanna Private Reserve, part of the outstanding Sabi Sand Game Reserve in South Africa with the unspoilt Bazaruto Island off the coast of Mozambique.

We start our safari with a flight to Sabi Sand private game reserve, a place that has long been famous for its spectacular wildlife sightings. This area has been protected for very long time and as a result the animals here, whilst remaining completely wild, are habituated to safari vehicles and as such are easily observed. Sabi Sand has the “big five” as well as many other animals and is perhaps the best place to see leopard in Africa. Your safari starts in Selous game reserve which is Africa’s largest protected wildlife area, the size of an average European country and one of the last great wilderness areas on the continent. You will have three nights here to take full advantage of the opportunities for wildlife viewing, either by boat along the beautiful Rufiji River and its lagoons, 4 x 4 safari vehicle or on foot with highly skilled and trained guides.

For the second part of your safari you’ll fly to Ruaha National Park, now Tanzania’s biggest park following its recent extension. This truly vast area contains a large cross section of Tanzania’s wildlife with both Northern and Southern species found here in healthy numbers. Despite its size there are presently only a few small camps and lodges, ensuring exclusive game viewing in most areas of the park.
