The endangered dugong,  a close relation of the Manatee, of which only a very small number still exist, swim in the shallow crystal clear waters that are also home to starfish, soft and hard corals, anemones, seahorses and an array of beautiful tropical fish.

The Bazaruto area is also a top destination for big game fishing which is practised on a “catch and Release” basis
