The whole island group is stunning, the inner islands, include Mahé, Praslin and La Digue and are the only oceanic islands of granitic composition on Earth. These islands are easier to get to and have affordable accommodation options.
The outer islands, are flat, low-lying coral atolls and reef islets. The most famous is Aldabra Atoll, one of the world’s largest raised coral atoll, where over 150,000 giant tortoises, sea-feeding turtles, robber crabs and seabirds live.
Where to go is really a matter of what you want from your holiday and how much you can afford, there are daily flight connections from Mahe to most Islands in the group.
