PLACES TO GO IN Seychelles

The whole island group is stunning, the inner islands, include Mahé, Praslin and La Digue and are the only oceanic islands of granitic composition on Earth. These islands are easier to get to and have affordable accommodation options.

The outer islands, are flat, low-lying coral atolls and reef islets. The most famous is Aldabra Atoll, one of the world’s largest raised coral atoll, where over 150,000 giant tortoises, sea-feeding turtles, robber crabs and seabirds live.

Where to go is really a matter of what you want from your holiday and how much you can afford, there are daily flight connections from Mahe to most Islands in the group.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO GO?

DRY SEASON

April, May, September, October and November can be considered the best time to visit the Seychelles for relaxing on the beach. These months see the transitional change between the hot and humid northwest winds and enjoy a period of calm. The temperature in the water is very pleasant, sometimes reaching up to 29 degrees C. With superb visibility this makes for a great time to swimming, snorkelling and diving.

green SEASON

The wettest months seem to be towards the end of November, through to January. However it is worth noting that there is still plenty of sunshine to be enjoyed both before and after these showers.

Temperatures averaging 80 degrees C can be enjoyed all year round.

SHOULDER SEASON

May to September experiences the brisker winds of the southeast with winds between 10 to 20 knots. These are ideal conditions for sailing and the warm tropical climate can still be enjoyed.

February through to March is a great time to visit the island and avoid the heavy tourist crowds.
