Linyanti and Selinda are private reserves adjacent to the Chobe Game Reserve, renowned for their predators and large concentrations of game including huge elephant herds.
These areas include many varied habitats: marshes, waterways, riverine forests, dry woodlands and the world famous Savuti Channel.
The Savuti Channel is a “waterway” that connects the Linyanti River from Zibalianja Lagoon, with the Chobe National Park. Two thirds of the famous Savuti Channel is in these private reserves and guests are able to view abundant wildlife privately and exclusively. The Savuti has only ever flowed intermittently and periodically dries up, however at the time of writing the channel is flowing, attracting huge amounts of wildlife to the area.
Wildlife including all of Africa’s major predators is plentiful and varied and includes red lechwe, tsessebe, sable and roan antelope as well as lion, cheetah, leopard and wild dog. There are no rhino here at present but they will ...

The best time to visit Linyanti and Selinda is during the dry season between May and October but wildlife sightings are excellent all year round and other seasons can be much less expensive.
The game viewing in the Selinda and Linyanti Reserves is excellent throughout the year. in common with other Botswana reserves the best game viewing occurs during the peak winter and early summer season months. At this time the bush is tinder dry and animals are attracted to permanent water holes and the Selinda Spillway and Savute Channel. During the dry season huge breeding herds of elephant can be seen in addition to the large bulls that are resident throughout the year.
Although game viewing is excellent and some of the most varied in Botswana, during the wet summer months the thicker foliage and longer grass makes your guides work a little harder for the best sightings.
Attractive pricing makes this a worthwhile time to visit and is a perfect element of a circuit with Botswana\’s desert and other Northern reserves
November is very hot and until the onset of the rains the game viewing is superb, once the rains start the game disperses and the density of animals close to the main watering points is less.
April and May these bush will be thicker following the rains but lower prices and some very pleasant weather make this an attractive time to visit
