This is a superb 4×4 safari exploring the game rich central section of Zambia’s superb South Luangwa National Park and the remote and undeveloped Southern region of the park where other vehicles are rarely encountered.
The accommodation is a mixture of high quality mid-sized safari lodges and wonderful little bush camps where both the quality of the camps and of the game viewing are not compromised.
South Luangwa is very scenic, much of it set against a backdrop of the river itself and its many tributaries and lagoons as well as the Muchinga Escarpment and the Chindeni Hills. The beautiful river acts as a magnet for game, the mass and variety to be found is impressive. Over time, the river’s course has carved a multitude of channels that in winter, form lagoons and oxbow lakes, which are the focus of attention for the fascinating mammals and birdlife of South Luangwa.
Your safari here will include a full range of game activities including day and night drives in open, specially adapted 4×4 safari vehicles. The highlight for many will be the walking safaris for which Zambia is rightly famous, conducted by a highly trained English speaking guide and an armed National Parks scout.
