Your safari begins with a superb 4×4 safari exploring the game rich central section of Zambia’s superb South Luangwa National Park and the relatively undeveloped Nsefu region of the park where other vehicles are rarely encountered.

The beautiful Luangwa river acts as a magnet for game, the mass and variety to be found is impressive. Over time, the river’s course has carved a multitude of channels that in winter, form lagoons and oxbow lakes, which are the focus of attention for the fascinating mammals and birdlife of the park.

Your safari continues with a visit to the Lower Zambezi National park, another pristine wilderness area with just a few small safari camps. In addition to game drives and walks, your activities will include boat and canoe safaris as well as the opportunity to fish for the ferocious tiger fish that frequent the Zambezi River.

OUR OPINION

“Photographers Dream” is named for the wonderful photo opportunities afforded by the abundant wildlife and superb scenery that feature on this trip. Photographers Dream represents good value when compared to safari of a similar quality elsewhere in Africa. A very varied itinerary and choice of activities makes this an excellent all round safari holiday.

Luangwa and Lower Zambezi are two of the best parks in Africa to see the elusive leopards. During dry season elephant numbers in the Lower Zambezi can be staggering and wild dog and lion are regularly seen in both parks.

If time permits and you have not previously visited Victoria Falls we highly recommend including the Victoria Falls extension, you will not regret it.

WHO SHOULD GO

This safari will appeal to both experienced safari travellers and first timers alike, as a great stand-alone safari, or the centrepiece of a longer safari visiting other regions such as Lake Malawi, Kafue National Park or North Luangwa National Park. Also a fantastic trip for keen birders and those with an interest in photography.
